Argh... wake up at 5am ! Too early for me !! We arrived at
PATH around 6am and waited for our bus.
We leaved at 7 am and 4
hours later we were in Boston. The weather wasn’t better than in
NY but it wasn’t raining so…
We took the Boston subway and searched for the
Hostelling International. The subway is funny, it looks like little trolley.

We
checked in at he HI and started our discover of Boston. There's one thong you have to know about Boston : they are really proud of their city and all the historical past of Boston. In Boston, History is never far !! In their mind, it's just impossible to leave somewhere else. Oh, and they are also proud of their basketball and baseball team : the Celtics and the Red Sox !

We started by commonwealth avenue
and the great green mall. It was beautiful : little houses, trees, flowers.

It
was a such different atmosphere than in NY. It was so calm, so green. We stood
a moment in Boston Common, the great park of Boston. There’s one thing really great in Boston for tourists. In the city, there’s
a line, a red line which cross all the city and make stop when there is
something cultural or historical to see. It’s called the Freedom trail. During
4,8km we saw the Boston’s treasures.

After Boston by foot, we’ve seen Boston from the top of the Prudential tower. The 360° view of Boston is really impressive.

From the
airport to Fenway park, from the islands to Harvard…And at night it’s amazing
!!
We went back to the HI and did a little stop.
We went to our first McDo of the trip and as we can supposed, everything is
bigger than in France.
We also met our roommate in the HI a really
nice girl.

On that Sunday, we went back to Harlem in a church to see a gospel mass.
It was absolutely amazing, the faith of all these people, their energy, their voices... Except the French tourists in front of us. It was the
first time I was really ashamed to be French ! They were so impolite…they were
quite dancing while people were praying! It was really inconvenient !
Anyway,
it was a wonderful moment I will never forget.
We met Dine when she ended working at the hard rock café on Time Square before going to the NYPL. Oh damned, this place is so beautiful. I wanna work there !!

And this, is only a stairway, so just imagine the main room !!
We went back to the hotel.
I needed a break so
I decided to have a hot coffee at the nearest starbucks. Within the rain it was
the only thing to do. So, with my umbrella (big up to Mister Gad Elmaleh !).
Damned rain, the first starbucks was full.
I walked until Union Square and entered in the first starbuck I
saw. Just the time to order and I found a empty seat. I spent a nice afternoon : a hot caramel
macchiato, something to read and watching NY streets trough the window.
I finally went back to the hotel because
tomorrow, we wake up early to go to Boston. The bus leave at 7am so … it would better to sleep !!

On that Saturday, the programm was that :
shopping, did our bagages and carry them to Dine’s home and have a sushi
diner.
So I went to the 34th St at Macy's and did little purchases as shoes, skirt… Ok, this year I really explosed my shoes dressing because when I came back, I had 5 new pairs !! I am always impressed by the american girls shoes !! It's so hight ! I don't know how they can walk with such shoes !! If you don't believe, watch that : i tried some and honestly...i could never walk more than 1m with it !

Fortunately, i tried other shoes that i really prefer ! Look at the blue one, they're great, isn't it?
I bought the blue !! I'm crazy of this sneakers !!
After a great shopping time, it was time to came back tio the hotel. It's fun to do shopping but how will I put everything i bought in my bag? How can I have so many things to put in?! I prepared my big bag and after
Gaëlle and I went to Dine’s home who accepted to keep it during our
little trip to Boston and DC.
Do the baggage wasn’t easy but carried them til’ Harlem was really much harder ! The heavy
bags had to cross the town.
3 subway later, we arrived in Harlem. Not on good station because I don’t
know why I came down at the wrong station…Anyway, once we were at Dine’s home,
we sat and talked with her nice roommate Paul. It was really cool because he
speaks a quite perfect French !! The evening was nice and the sushi diner was
really cool. I could see Dine’s home and see a little how she lives. And i have to admit that, i was curious...I know Dine and i just wanted to see...Her flat is nice, brilliant, in a nice neighborhood, with her roomate drawings on the walls... Now I know why she's well there !

Another museum day : visit of the wonderful
MoMa ! My favourite museum in NYC !!

After seeing real treasures from Warhol,
Brassai, Monet, Picasso, Giacometti, etc. we changed completely of place and
went to F.A.O Schwarz : a big toys store ! It was fun ! I even met Harry Potter
and Dark Vador !!!

We did shopping on broadway til’ late. I know,
I know, I did a lot shopping !
I couldn’t stand to be later in the evening because
Dine and I had decided to go in our bar !! So, it’s exactly what we did. We were drinking and
talking when suddenly I saw somebody I would never imagined to see that day
! Our mate Alain was there ! I met this guy last year at the Whiskey trader.
Honestly it was incredible to see him one year later in the same place !
Anyway, I spent a really great night and came back to the hotel a little
drunk…but just a little !!

The next day, Gaëlle and I decided to visit the
Met ! One of the most amazing museum I’ve ever seen. We entered at 10 am and went out at 5 pm ! There’s so many things to see :
Egyptian area, modern art galleries, Italian sculptures, Asiatic treasures… And also the opportunity of doing some jokes...
As you can imagine, after 7 hours in the museum, we were tired…Gaëlle came back to the hotel while I went to Soho to see Dine and do a little shopping.
As shopping fans, we did our pelerinage
to Top Shop !! Oh my god !! Top Shop, Top Shop !!! Unfortunately for us,
we went to the shoes flour. And there, it’s drama ! I’ve seen the wonderful
boots I had already seen on ther website. And there was my size…damned ! I’m weak
and I cannot resist to shoes.
Anyway, Dine did exactly the same ! We went out
to Top Shop with a big bag…and a big smile !! After, we went to Yellow Rat
Bastard and their great clothes and other shops until we stopped to eat at Mirô’s (594 Broadway ; Soho) ! Their sandwichs are
good and cheap ! Just what we were searching.
I spent a really good time with Dine, doing shopping, talking, laughing…Thanks again Dine !!
I walked til' the hotel and just enjoy NYC atmosphere, just...feel the city...

Hey, hey, hey, that Wednesday was my birthday
!!!
Unfortunately for us, the sun had decided to leave NY. On this grey day, we went to the Guggenheim museum : for once the exterior of the museum was visible but…except 2 galeries, the interior was closed…

But there’s another good things to do when the
day is grey : doing shopping !! So this is exactly what we did. Macy’s, Forever
21, Victoria’s secret, Borders…
We ate at Sbarro and I discovered a strange thing on
American cuisine. Some yoghurt have the taste of meds…no really! It’s
a little…strange to eat.
After a shower and changing clothes, let’s go
to party ! We went to Union square to eat in a fabulous restaurant : Max
Brenner !!! For all the chocolate lovers, I only have 1 advice : run to Max
Brenner restaurant and taste their Double chocolate Fudge cake : it’s just…wonderful
! This time, Dine and I innovated : we tried the chocolate – marshmallow
pizza ans the crepes . This year I had a
birthday crepe !! I spent a great evening with friends, chocolate and NYC !! Maybe my best birthday ever !!

The best was after the restaurant ! As Dine and I loves a great bar on the 55th St, naturally we decided to ended the evening at the Whiskey Trader : cosmo, salted pop-corn, good music and great ambiance. I just love this place !!

The next day, my friend Gaëlle did a flight
above NY in helicopter. After we walked to go til’ Chinatown and little Italy. Dine joined us and we had a great tour in these boroughs.

We ate in a small restaurant in Little Italy. After we went to Soho (and its great streets and shops),West Village, Greenwich, we took pictures in front of the Friends building, Washington Square, etc.

After, we decided to have a drink in a great bar with a spectacular view on the Empire State and the Chrysler building. Well, 6$ for a diet coke it’s expensive but the view my friends….the view !!

Just to show you the atmosphere of this bar...
We went to the subway and let’s go to Time
Square and the M’M’s Store.

For our third day, we spent our matinee in Central Park. We walked through the reservoir, Strawberry field, Belvedere Castle, the Lake, the John Lennon memorial, Bow bridge,Bethesda fountain and the mall… It was really beautiful, the trees flowers, the big lawns…It’s relaxing because you can see buildings everywhere but in the park, there is no sounds except birds…This is all the contrast of NYC !!

When you are in Central Park, you can expect quite everything : musicians, models...
Music in Central Park

When i saw these musicians, just on the over side of the alley, there was a models shooting. The poor woman had to walk with very hight shoes with 5 dogs... It's a really hard job indeed !!
After we made a promenade on the fifth avenue, went to the Apple Store, took a starbucks at the Trump tower, and went to the Top of the Rock. I love this place. You have a such view of Manhattan : the park on one side and the Empire and the south of the island on the other. The view is just magic at the sunset. Definitely, Top of the Rock is my favourite building !

For our second day in NY, we had decided to go
to Brooklyn Bridge. We went to the very south of the
island by the subway and he was there : THE bridge, the great Brooklyn Bridge !

We crossed it to have a maximum of pictures ! The day was so shinny, a little too much because when we arrived in Brooklyn : we had 2 more things : a lot of pictures and big sunburns !! We took the subway again and went to Battery Park. It was beautiful with all the trees.

We crossed Battery Park to go to Staten
Island Ferry Station.
Aboard we had a nice conversation with DOT officer
who gived us a new things to visit ! On the ferry, we had a great view on
Liberty Statue, Brooklyn, the Hudson river and of course Lower Manhattan.

After a small luch break in Battery Park, we walked to Ground Zero. A few block from there I finally could enter in the World Financial Center and its wonderful winter garden.

I
really wanted to see it since my first trip to NY !! The State park just in
front gave us a wonderful view on the Hudson river. We leaved this place after a
starbucks break (Passion Iced tea…huum) and took our way to Wall Street.
We walked on Broadway from Wall Street to City
Hall. We took the R line to join the 59th St and Central Park to see Dine. Seated on a bench in
CP, we talked, lought and decided to go all together at the top of the Empire State Building.
We walked in the sunset and had the chance to see Manhattan by day and by night. Magic !

After so many emotions, let’s go to bed.

Back in New York City !!
Just the once will not hurt, i’m just coming
home from my annual NYC trip. I cannot denied that I’m totally addicted to this
city. I know it’s kinda stupid to love a city but…what can I say !
So, once again, I spent days in the most
lovable place in the world. This trip was a little different this time : first
I didn’t travel alone - my friend Gaëlle did this trip with me- and my best
friend’s cuddly toy was our non planed passenger, and second, not only I saw
NYC but also Boston which was a real discover for me.
Anyway, I can’t stand to tell you almost
everything I’ve done during these great vacation !
Ready? So Let’s go to NYC !!
Gaëlle and I had planed since 2005 to do a such
trip together,so imagine how we were excited when we had confirm the flight ticket
purchase !! The D day was april 25 ! Departure planned at

While we were waiting for boarding, we had a bad news…our plane had a problem, a battery problem indeed. We had to change ticket, terminal, gate, etc. But finally, we had been registered on another flight and we had chance because it was a direct flight !

After 8 long hours flying through the ocean, we
arrived to JFK !! Aaaah ! NYC !!
We quickly went to the immigration desk, then
the baggage claim and finally the customs. Piouff, my bottles of champagne were
still here !
Once we were in the airport, our quest was…to
find a shuttle (private joke for Dine : “un chu-tle”). We didn’t even made a
single move that a guy ask us if we wanted to go to Manhattan for 19$? Sure we wanted. With 2
french couples, we followed him til’ a car park. There was just a little
problem : no van were there ! For our surprise, the man walked until a car,
well when I say a car…Guess what it could be? It was a limousine ! A real
limousine.

It was so unbelievable than we started to look
around us and search for a hidden camera. I asked to the driver if the ride
were still at 19$ because…This is how I arrived in NYC : in a limousine !!

and the Empire State. On Time Square, we saw a Big Bob
l’Eponge,

We went on Time Square for another reason, a very important reason : see my favourite Mamadine at work. It was so cool to see her !! We
were just like to kids. So happy to see each other !!
With a great starbucks coffee in one hand, our
camera in the other, we sat in Bryant Park to admire the NYPL, the Empire and
just taste the feeling of being in NYC. We walked til’ Grand Central to have
our subway line and decided to go to bed…it was a hudge day !!
